Biggest King To Come Aboard in 2019 Makes a Great Ending for Last Charter of the Season!
The cards played out nicely for Jeff Key and company for the last charter of our 2019 fishing season! After switching the fishing date from the unfishable Sat., Sept. 14th to Sun., Sept.15th, which turned out to be a pretty decent day out on Lake Ontario, these Fort Drum soldiers consisting of Jeff, Don, Matt and Jeff, stormed the lake and took their limit of Lake Trout as well as a 28 pound Salmon plus a small Brown Trout!
For Jeff Key, you couldn't have scripted a better ending as this was the 3rd time he had booked with the Milky Way this season. Although having success catching Lake Trout on the other two charters, he had yet to land a King Salmon! After catching their Lake Trout limit, one of which weighed in at 18 pounds, the switch was made to target Kings. Late in the afternoon, when it was Jeff's turn on the rod, it popped and a King was on! It was quite a fight with the King taking line and tail walking on the surface! After winning the battle, Jeff found himself landing a beautiful silver 28 pound King Salmon which was the biggest King landed aboard the Milky Way this fishing season!
Needless to say, this was a perfect way to end the fishing trip and to cap off the season for Milky Way Fishing Charters! We also want to thank our Fort Drum fishermen for their dedication and service to our country. It is greatly appreciated so thank you, Jeff, Don, Matt and Jeff!
